AOTA Positions to be Elected in 2024 Voting

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Volunteer Leadership Development Committee (VLDC) invites AOTA members to consider yourself or a colleague and submit nominations of Association members for the following Association leadership positions to be elected in 2024. Online voting will be conducted from February 2, 2024 through February 23, 2024, with assumption of office on July 1, 2024.

General Election

• Board Director (1) (2)

Time Commitment Average: 5 to 10 hours per week with three in-person meetings per year that require travel.

• President-Elect

Time Commitment: Shall have evidence of willingness to devote a minimum of 20 hours per week to Presidential duties and considerable time to national and international travel, communication, and leadership.

• Vice President

Time Commitment: Willingness to devote considerable time to Board responsibilities including travel, communication, and leadership; including a minimum of 10 hours per week for Vice Presidential duties.

• Commission on Education (COE) Chairperson-Elect

Time Commitment Average: 10 hours per month.

• Commission on Practice (COP) Chairperson-Elect

Time Commitment Average: 15 to 20 hours per month.

Special Interest Sections (SISs)

• Children & Youth Special Interest Section (CYSIS) Chairperson
• Home & Community Health Special Interest Section (HCHSIS) Chairperson
• Mental Health Special Interest Section (MHSIS) Chairperson

Time Commitment Average: 10-15 hours per month.

Organizational Advisors

• Doctoral Capstone Coordinators Academic Leadership Council (DCC-ALC) Chairperson   

Time Commitment Average: 10 hours per month.

• Occupational Therapy Academic Leadership Council (OT-ALC) Chairperson

Time Commitment Average: 10 hours per month.

• Occupational Therapy Assistants - Academic Leadership Council (OTA-ALC) Chairperson

Time Commitment Average: 10 hours per month.

Representative Assembly Leadership Committee (RALC)

• Credentials Review and Accountability Committee (CRAC) Chairperson

Time Commitment Average: 5 to 7 hours per month.

• Vice Speaker

Time Commitment Average: 20 hours per month.

Representative to the Representative Assembly

• OTA Representative-Elect

Time Commitment Average: Two to four hours monthly.

Note: Only occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students are eligible to be nominated for ASD positions.

Time Commitment Average: 4-5 hours per month.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is Tuesday, October 24, 2022, by 11:59 a.m. (just before noon) ET. All nomination materials must be submitted by the deadline through the online platform in order to be considered.
