Have you considered stewardship as part of your volunteer journey?
If so, the positions for appointments at AOTA open on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 11:59 am ET [just before noon], and close on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:59 am ET [just before noon].
These positions assume their role on July 1, 2026, and are for three (3) years unless stated otherwise. All positions are open to OTs and OTAs unless specifically stated. AOTA works to ensure that every committee has at least one OT and at least one OTA.
Serving in an appointed role is more than a line on a résumé. It is an act of stewardship. It means showing up for the profession, contributing your expertise, and helping shape the future of occupational therapy for the practitioners, students, and clients who come after you. Whether you are a clinician, educator, researcher, or somewhere in between, your perspective has value here.
We especially encourage those who may be thinking "I'm not sure I'm ready" or "someone else is probably more qualified" to apply. Those are often the people whose voices are needed most.
AOTA is excited to announce the following appointment opportunities:
Volunteer Leadership Development Committee (VLDC)
Awards & Recognition Committee (ARC)
Bylaws, Policies, and Procedures Committee (BPPC)
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIJAB) Committee
